About Hosting Events at East West

East West sponsors events (workshops, author appearances, lectures, classes, concerts and meet-up groups) that provide education and experiential learning in health & wellness, spiritual development, as well as inspiration for individual and social change.  Although East West actively recruits and invites individuals and organizations that meet our exacting criteria for sponsorship, we occasionally accept applications for event presentations from other sources.  95% of our events are ones that we initiate with our presenters.  Space and time is exceedingly precious so we look for presenters and events that complementary to our mission and are most likely to produce full audience turnout.  If you are contemplating an event at East West, please check the following criteria before submitting a proposal.  We will review and accept proposals only within the following guidelines:

• Well known authors published by one of our key publishers (e.g. Random House, Wiley, Inner Traditions, Penguin, Wisdom, Sounds True, Hay House etc)  Self published authors with limited distribution are rarely able to meet our audience or publicity requirements.
• Presenter should have strong marketing vehicles such as their own e-mail list, publications or website and have a substantial following established within their area
  of specialty. 
  
• Practitioners should have 5-10 years minimum documented experience in their specific workshop with a recent documented attendance of at least 30-70 people per workshop. (Submit list of locations and dates with attendance information)  A good example would be a history of presenting at Omega or a regional/national conference such as Yoga Journal.
  
• We require testimonials from previous events and market influencers to verify credentials and suitability for our audience.
  
• Independent films should be submitted to the Events Manager for review and DVDs cannot be returned.  Director/producer is asked to facilitate a Q&A or discussion group after the film.

• Appropriate mix and saturation:  We try to offer a wide variety of topics for our customers and balance the types of offerings so we are not offering too many things in just one area over a period of time. 
  
• Customer interest:  Although a topic may be interesting and valid for some audiences, it may or may not fit our particular client groups:  We recruit the topics that most interest our customers, in order to assure our programs are well attended and received.
• Marketing:  An appearance at East West is no guarantee that people will attend the event. It must meet our fundamental criteria for market interest and the presenter must demonstrate the ability to draw a crowd. Marketing material must be provided 30 days prior to an event.
  

Future presenters submit a fully completed Event Proposal form which follows.  If you meet the above criteria and submit this form, please do not call East West to follow-up.  We will contact you at our earliest convenience. Please allow up to 60-90 days for review and verification of your proposal.  Our events schedule is often booked a year in advance so please do not expect an immediate response.  Be certain to fill out the form in its entirety and include the link to your professional website.  Incomplete forms will not be considered.
